Pal Evidence Eliminator Review
Review By Jason Kobold
Your Hard Drive May Look Clean But It Isn’t
So you think that by clicking that ‘Delete’ option in Windows really does actually send that file to the recycle bin? Or that by clicking the ‘Empty Recycle Bin’ option cleans out the data inside it forever? Well think again. Your hard drive may look clean but that data is still there and somebody like your friends, your wife or a law enforcement agency can easily recover it and use it against you.
They will hold you responsible for any sensitive data they find on your computer even if you came across it accidentally. Even records of the internet searches you have performed or the pictures you have viewed can be permanently recorded on to your computer.
Anybody with a limited knowledge of computers can get a data recovery program online and use it on your computer and find out everything you have been doing and tried to delete with a few keystrokes.

Lives Are Ruined Because Of Poor Sensitive Data Removal
It happens everyday, and everyday marriages are runined or people go to prison becuase of it. The fact is, your computer is spying on your and gethering evidence that can be used againest you. But with a good evidence eliminator program you have a much better chance of making sure that any data you delete stays deleted forever. We take a look at Pal Evidence Elminator to find out if its up to the job of protecting your privacy.
Pal Evidence Eliminator Installation & Features
Installation of Evidence Eliminator is a breeze. Once running your a shown an interface with a number of taps towards the top of the screen. The include; General, Cookies, Cache, Browser History and Secure Wipe.
You start out in the General tab area. From here you can choose if you want Evidence Eliminator to start up with Windows, or if you want the program to delete cookies and clear the cache automatically and finally if you want the program to clear the visited url history automatically. These are all good options to have checked and if you want to protect your privacy better. All these areas on your computer can give up a lot of information about what you’re doing on your computer.
In the cookies tab you’re shown all the cookies that are in your Windows Cookies folder. You can choose to delete all the cookies that Evidence Eliminator found or you can take your time and pick and choose from each cookie entry and delete them that way.
The Cache tab displays all the information found in your Windows cache. This includes sites you have been to, cookies on your computer and images you have looked at among other things.
The browser history tab displays every site you have visited recently and when you visited them. This is a big area to keep on top of if you want to protect your online viewing habits form others. Like the cookies section with Evidence Eliminator you can choose to delete all entires shown or pick and choose which you would like to delete.
In the secure wipe area you can choose specific folder or files to wipe using either a 3 pass or 7 pass shredding level. The more times a file is overwritten the less chance there is of that data been able to be recovered but the tradeoff is the slower deletion time.
Pal Evidence Eliminator Help & Support
There isn’t a help file either as part of Evidence Eliminator program or in the program folder. Technical support is available but only through email. It would have been nice to see some live support or at least a ticketing system in place.
Pal Evidence Eliminator Conclusion
I didn’t find Evidence Eliminator quite as easy to use as some of the other evidence eraser programs reviewed here. I would also have liked to have seen more areas covered that sensitive data would be removed from, like Microsoft Office documents or the Messenger chat logs. These options are found in programs such as Evidence Nuker and Evidence Smart but are clearly lacking in Evidence Eliminator. If Evidence Eliminator improves there program to cover more areas where data is cleaned from then they would have a winning product but as such I can’t recommend this program currently. It simply doesn’t do enough to adequately protect your data or privacy.
